Performance reviews are not enough
What’s a performance review? It is the meeting between the employee and the manager during which they assess whether the employee did what she/he was meant to do. For the purposes of measuring the performance it is enough. But is it good enough to measure what the outcomes for the business were? Does it tell the manager how valuable the employee was. No. It only gives you a short-sighted vision of what has happened in the previous period.
