In the corporate world success is measured monetarily. The salary we receive in the end of the month, how big the last bonus was, etc., etc. But money earned is just a mean to evaluate how well we did. And it depend on the value we brought with our efforts. It doesn’t matter how much hours we spend, how hard we work as long as we got the job done well enough.
All successful managers have striven for adding value, not increasing their earnings. The earnings automatically get increased as soon as the value adds increase.
